The MFCC Foundation will present the 2018 Scholarship Recipients at the Gintong Pamana Leadership and Scholarship Awards Banquet

The Maui Filipino Chamber of Commerce Foundation will present the 2018 Scholarship Recipients at the 2018 Gintong Pamana Leadership and Scholarship Awards Banquet on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Maui Beach Hotel. Scholarship funds were raised through the Foundation’s Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament and through the generosity of the Foundation’s Scholarship partners.

“We are very proud of our 2018 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation Scholarship Recipients,” said Jorge Tirona, president of the Maui Filipino Chamber of Commerce Foundation. “All of them have excelled in the classroom, been active at school and in the community, and provided hundreds of hours in volunteer service. The Foundation is confident these scholars have the commitment and excellence to contribute to Maui’s future.”

The eighteen Scholarship Recipients are:
Shanelle Ancheta, daughter of Celso Ancheta and Grace Ancheta. Shanelle was graduated from Maui High School, where she was a Valedictorian, and she will attend the University of San Francisco, majoring in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Shanelle will receive a $1,000.00 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation Scholarship.

Levin Gil Bonilla, son of Lee Bonilla and Gina Irene Bonilla. Levin was graduated from Maui High School, where he was a Valedictorian, and he will attend the University of Hawaii Maui College, majoring in Dental Hygiene. Levin will receive a $1,000.00 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation/Maui Island Cozy Dental Scholarship.

Mary Jicel Butac, daughter of Fernand N. Butac and Marilyn G. Butac. Butac was graduated from Maui High School, where she was a Valedictorian, and she will attend the University of Hawaii Maui College, majoring in Nursing. Mary will receive a $1,000 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation Scholarship.

Chealsey Corpuz, daughter of Fortunato Corpuz, Jr. and Carolyn Corpuz. Corpuz was graduated from Maui High School, where she was a Valedictorian, and she will attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa, majoring in Biology. Chealsey will receive a $1,000.00 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation Scholarship.

Joanna Corpuz, daughter of Joel Corpuz and Mabel Corpuz. Corpuz was graduated from St. Anthony High School, where she was a Valedictorian, and she will attend Seattle University, where she will major in Pre-Sciences. Joanna will receive a $1,000.00 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation Scholarship.

Darrian Cremer, son of Brian Cremer and Jocelyn Cremer. Cremer was graduated from Baldwin High School and he will attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where he will major in Civil Engineering. Darrian will receive a $1,000.00 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation Scholarship.

Ray-Anne Mae Godoy Dela Cruz, daughter of Reynaldo Dela Cruz and Anelyn Ulep. Dela Cruz was graduated from Baldwin High School, where she was a Valedictorian, and will attend the University of San Francisco, majoring in Business Management. Ray-Anne will receive a $1,000.00 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation Scholarship/Megan, Meredith & Mallory Bagoyo Scholarship in Business.

Camille Kimoto, daughter of Jon Kimoto and Geri Kimoto. Kimoto was graduated from Baldwin High School and will attend San Diego State University, where she will major in Marketing. Camille will receive a $1,000.00 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation Scholarship.

Tony Orlando V. Lazo, son of Moro Virgilio M. Lazo and Maria Praxedes V. Lazo. Lazo was graduated from Maui High School, where he was a Valedictorian, and he will attend Grand Canyon University, where he will major in Biology. Tony will receive a $1,000.00 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation Scholarship.

Emily Mitra, daughter of Ramon Mitra and Michelle Mitra. Mitra was graduated from Maui High School, where she was a Valedictorian, and she will attend California Baptist University, where she will major in Architecture. Emily will receive a $1,000.00 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation Scholarship.

Jaymar Caluntad Quedding, son of Marlon S. Quedding and Marites C. Quedding. Quedding was graduated from Maui High School, where he was a Valedictorian, and he will attend the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, where he will major in Pharmacy. Jaymar will receive a $1,000.00 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation Scholarship.

Trisha Mae Rapacon, daughter of Jusant Rapacon and Milagros Rapacon. Rapacon was graduated from Maui High School, where she was a Valedictorian, and she will attend the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where she will major in Hospitality and Tourism. Trisha will receive a $1,000.00 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation/Tante & Araceli Urban Foundation Scholarship.

Remy Romo-Valdez, daughter of Miguel Valdez and Raynette Romo-Valdez. Romo-Valdez was graduated from Maui High School and he will attend the University of Hawaii Maui College, where he will major in Sustainable Science Management. Remy will receive a $1,000.00 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation/Elle Cochran Scholarship.

Katherine Swor, daughter of Tita Ann Swor. Swor was graduate from Baldwin High School and she will attend Saint Martin’s University, where she will major in Education. Katherine will receive a $1,000.00 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation/Rev. Walter Baloaloa Memorial Scholarship

Taylor Tagud, son of Bert Tagud and Myrna Vinoray Tagud. Tagud was graduated from Maui High School, where he was a Valedictorian, and he will attend Seattle University, where he will major in Administration of Justice. Taylor will receive a $1,000.00 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation/Richard Caldito, Sr. Scholarship.

Emily Tsuhako, daughter of Ken Tsuhako and Cynthia Tsuhako. Tsuhako was graduated from Maui High School and she will attend the University of North Texas, where she will major in Music Education. Emily will receive a $1,000.00 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation Scholarship.

Hannah Valencia, daughter of Orlino Valencia and Leticia Valencia. Valencia was graduated from Lahainaluna High School and she will attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa, majoring in Architecture. Hannah will receive a $1,000.00 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation/Alfred Basioa Scholarship.

Caitlin Villarosa, daughter of Rodney Villarosa and Traci Fujita. Villarosa was graduated from Baldwin High School, where she was a Valedictorian, and she will attend the University of California-Irvine, where she will major in Criminology. Villarosa will receive a $1,000.00 Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation/Friends of Gil Keith-Agaran Scholarship.
