LET’S CELEBRATE FILIPINO FOOD AND CULTURE!
The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu is pleased to announce the theme for the 5th iteration of Filipino Food Week (FFW): “Pulutan Recipes”
Since its inception, FFW has raised and promoted awareness and interest among locals, international visitors, and restaurants in Hawaii to sample and feature Filipino food and explore the Philippines’ rich culinary heritage.
“Pulutan” is ubiquitous in Filipino drinking culture. While the usual bar food mainly consists of finger foods and appetizers, “pulutan” may range from light offerings such as “adobong mani” to heavy meals like “crispy pata.” With the theme “pulutan,” participating restaurants are requested to create a dish that will complement any beer or liquor.
They are also encouraged to develop specialty cocktails using Filipino products.
Interested participants are requested to register using this link on or before May 29.
