For solidarity and goodwill, members of the Maui Filipino Chamber of Commerce board dropped off some bags of aloha with snacks at the picket line where UPW workers are striking.

Nearly 500 health workers went on strike on Feb. 22, where 90% are Filipinos. Healthcare workers were frontliners during the pandemic and are an integral part of our community.

While members of the community are advised to not delay the care they require with operations still on-going, we hope a fair agreement with Kaiser - Maui Health System is reached soon.
