To kick off Filipino-American History Month, the County of Maui and the Maui Filipino Chamber Foundation will host a Philippine Flag Raising ceremony at the County building on Monday, October 5th, beginning at 10:00 am.
At the Flag Raising ceremony, Mayor Arakawa is expected to read a Proclamation. Following the ceremony, there will be entertainment and free Filipino food tasting provided by the restaurants participating in the Maui Fil-Am Heritage Festival®.
Maui is the only county where the Philippine flag is raised to celebrate Filipino-American History Month. Mahalo to Mayor Alan Arakawa and the County of Maui for allowing the Philippine flag to be flown for the whole month of October.
