Bantay Association awards 5 scholarships to graduates



MAUI, Hawaii- The Bantay Association of Maui Scholarship program,
under the leadership of Flor Cardenas, presented five $700 scholarships
to high school graduates.

This year's recipients were honored at their high school's award night.

Baldwin High School graduate Aleksander Grant Paet, son of Roger
and MaryJane Paet of Wailuku, plans to attend the University of Colorado
and major in mechanical engineering.

Baldwin graduate Kylor Sparks, son of Nathan Sparks and Juliet Cortez
of Wailuku, plans to attend University of Hawaii Maui College and major
in business.

Three Maui High School graduates also received scholarships.

Tara Ann Marie Pacubas, daughter of Roland and Maria Carmela Pacubas
of Kahului, plans to attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa and major
in biological engineering.

Kyryss Kimberly Pastor, daughter of Emmanuel and Corazon Pastor
of Kahului, plans to attend UH-Maui College and major in nursing.

Justin Teano, son of Jun and Shirley Teano of Kahului, plans to attend
the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and major in accounting.
